This makes the introduction of new applications simple, since they can be installed remotely and securely from one central point when appropriate, removing the need to visit each machine and the associated downtime that would require.

Since all configuration and support can be done remotely, there is no need for local users to change that configuration, so each machine can be secured to prevent tampering. This will remove the possibility of interference in any machine, and maintain control. This in turn also prevents the installation of unwanted and possibly unlicensed software, which may contain a virus.
